Chris and I just spent a relaxing afternoon at Jumbo Jimmy’s Crab Shack in Port Deposit, MD. We made reservations on the deck and took an afternoon drive down to Maryland from Lancaster. We had a dozen of the large crabs reserved ($45) and when we got there we were seated right away. We ordered beers and an appetizer of the Chesapeake Potato Skins (smothered with jumbo lump crabmeat and cheddar cheese). I was originally going to share the steamed crabs with Chris, but then I saw the next table getting served huge, monster crabcake sandwiches with slaw and fries, and decided to save my manicure and take the lazy crab-lover’s way out instead. I was not disappointed… the crab cake was one of the best I’ve had. Chris spent the next two hours tearing up his huge pile of crabs (some of the best we’ve had). Jumbo Jimmy’s is always a fun outing… the huge deck has live music (Jimmy Buffet / country style) a fun crowd and friendly service, and the owner, Bill Barton stopped by to talk with us for a while and make sure everything was perfect. The cook stopped by our table as well. Inside, they have a bluegrass band on Sundays, which is packed.
Here’s the info… tell them Mid-Atlantic Boater sent you!
